Back in 1994 when the TTP opened the first employee we brought on staff was Priscilla.
She hid out around the store for a couple of weeks till she figured out this was her store and home. And once out she was the perfect store cat. Most folks remember her sleeping on the different counter tops and also being a little aloft but it was her store.
Missie
came to us as a kitten. She had beautiful long hair and enjoyed being around customers plus patrolling the whole store. She also enjoyed sleeping on all the counter tops. Priscilla's and Missie's careers overlapped a little. She passed on at a fairly young age.
Then came the great Lucile! She was the great store cat. She really enjoyed customers and made herself available for pets while sleeping in a basket on the front counter. She spent the day checking on customers when not catching a nap. And was the most loving and visible store cat we've ever had. It was a big loss to the TTP family when she passed.
Now we have Baxter
our first boy. He also wasn't sure about this store cat thingy. So he hid out for a couple of weeks. He's still kinda shy and sleeps on Jim's desk in the back most of the day. He's added a couple of pounds since he arrived but can jump to some of the highest ledges in the store. Looks like he'll develop into a great shop cat. The bottom 5 pictures are of Baxter.
Customers always remember the cat's name but have trouble with the human employee names. Baxter and the other store cats are the only one with a business card so maybe that's it. Baxter enjoys stories about other rescues and getting his own personal messages so if you've got a minute say hi to Baxter
